W.A.L.T to use content from the book. Elsie Locke



  • Elsie was the youngest of 6 children she lived in manukau shore harbour.


  • Elsie Locke fought for many causes as such as making nz a better place.


  • Elsie is the first person to have a park named after her by the Christchurch  Council.


  • Her best-known children's book, The Runaway Settlers, remains in print after more than 40 years and in 1999 won the inaugural.

  • Elsie locke died 2001  8 april

  • She is famous for being a amazing author and for her book the Run away settlers.
