Kiwi can.

W.A.L.T upload and post about what we learnt in Kiwi can today.

Today we had Kiwi we learnt all about respect, we done 3 games first we done a game called snap, crackle and pop, to play this game you get into a group of three and pick who's snap who's crackle and who's pop, when your done that than sit in a big circle with the rest of the class, when someone says either one of the words and your the one that they say you have to run around the circle and your team mates have to hold each other's legs like a bridge so you can go through and there is something in the middle and the first one to grab it wins and you have to count up your points. The next game was called so, ma, ca, lo, this game is when you sit in a circle and you put your hands out and one of your hands is infront of the persons hand and your other hand is behind the other person next to you, you sing the so, ma, ca, lo song and at the end it sings 1-10 and the person on nine has to clap number tens hand and if they clap them self there out and if nine claps tens hand the person on ten loses. the last game was GKQ this is just when your in a circle and you go around the circle and do a quiz.

REFLECTION:

How did I show respect today?

I think I showed respect by treating people the way I want to be treated.

Marine session with Oliver.

I.A.L.T write and reflect about our Marine session with Oliver.

Yesterday we had our first session with Oliver, Oliver is a person from the Marine reserves program, we went to Te Punawai ora pools, when we arrived we all lined up in a single file line and got fitted into our wetsuits, got our snorkel and flippers, then went into the changing rooms to put it all on. When we were done we waited for all of the others to get into there wet suits, a couple of times I had to help some other people get into their wet suits because I was the first one done and, the were a bit frustrated. We got into a group of non-confidential swimmers and confident ones, (I was a confident swimmer) we got into a buddy, grabbed a boogy board and sat down on the edge of the pool(the goal for these activity's was to stay with your partner) we got into the pool and went in a line to swim around the pool and try to stay with your partner (my partner kept swimming away).

REFLECTION:

What did I find challenging? I found that blowing out all of the water from the snorkelling was hard because there was still a little bit left.

What did you enjoy? I liked going down to the bottom and holding my breath.

What is one of your goals you have to do with your ability in the water? hold my breath longer so that I can go under for longer than I do know.

My wolf collage art.

I.A.L.T upload and reflect on my wolf collage art.

On Thursday we started to pick and sketch out wolf to day we started to glue on little pieces of newspaper, to prep for this you will need

Magazines (with your desired colours)

Next get an A3 piece of coloured paper and fold it in half,

Print out a wolf face and put the printed wolf into the middle of the folded paper and put it onto a window and sketch it out onto the coloured paper,

When your done that, get the magazine and rip out little pieces of the colours you want it to fit into the sketch (the smaller the pieces the better it will turn out)

Once all done it should look really nice.

REFLECTION:

What did I enjoy? I enjoyed finding all of the coloured pieces and sticking it on (it was like a puzzle)

What did I find challenging? I found that getting all the pieces on, because of my hands being so sticky.

QUESTION: have you done this kind of art before.

Kiwi can

I.A.L.T upload and reflect on our Kiwi can lesson.
Today we had Kiwi can, we are still learning about accountability as we will be doing for the rest of the term our catch phrase was we are honest we are true we take responsibility for what we do.
Our first game was called bang, in this game we would be in a circle and when someone would call out a name that person has to sit-down and the people beside them had to say bang as fast as they can and the last one to say it sits down until there is a winner. Our second game was called the colour game, when someone calls a colour in Maori they have to wind a line on the floor in that colour, we had the colour blue-kahurangi, white-ma, brown-parouri, black-pango, for white we went to a wall and for brown we went to the floor next to the door. The last game was called traffic lights, in this game everyone goes to one side of the room and one  adult goes to theoretically side and if the say green-kakariki you run, if they say yellow-kowhai that means walk and if they say red-whero you stop, to win you have to touch the person at the other side of the room first. our last game was called clap jump walk and stop, in this game you have to walk around and if they do the wrong action there out.

REFLECTION:
what did I enjoy? I enjoyed learning the catch phrase and learning the meaning of accountability.
what did I find challenging? I found that learning about accountibility so fast is very challenging.

In that classroom we done coding on scratch, and even had lunch outside in the beautiful sunshine. that day was so fun, we talked about carvings and trying to find the story to it, like in one of them it had a man that set out to find a octopus that had wrecked boats, and the man you can see has killed the octopus. It was so beautiful there and it was kinda like butterfly Creek in Auckland.

REFLECTION:
what did I enjoy? I enjoyed learning about the story's of Maori and coding on scratch.

Our next game was called impossible connections, this game was were you all dance around to some music stops someone says a number and a body part and you have to get into a group of that much people and you have to be all connected touching that body part, when you've done that you sit down and the last group to sit down or if you don't have a group your out. and at the end of each session we do a game called GKQ, this is a quiz game and we always have a different buzzer, like touch your toes and say your name and many more.

My art.

I.A.L.T upload my art and reflect on it.

On Tuesday we done some art with our reliever teacher Mrs Hall, we choose one of the 4 designs that were nature EG Paua shells, Kowhai flower and more, on a black piece of paper we had to copy the drawing onto the paper with a pencil, then we coloured it in also with pencil, for this we didn't have to do the exact colours but we had to try to blend it in. By the end the result is amazing.

What did I enjoy?
I enjoyed colouring in my art because after colour it is more easy to see it especially because of the paper being black.

What did I found hard?
What I found hard was getting the motivation to finish the patterns because of them being so hard.

What did I do well?
I think I done well on colouring in and drawing the main one the Kowhai flower.

QUESTION:
Do you like art?

My angles shape.

I.A.L.T upload a learning task from this week.
This week for maths we done a shape out of angles, when we made our shape and measured them we had to make the same thing but on a Google drawing, we had to use a shape to start with then we Drew some angles in them, some people in my class done things like TVs and more.
I enjoyed, creating my shape and just having fun with the angles.
What I found interesting was designing all of the shape and trying to fit in all of the angles.
I think next time I could improve on putting more angles into my shape.
QUESTION: do you know your angles.

our Kiwi can lesson.

I.A.L.T upload and reflect on our Kiwi can lesson.
Today we had Kiwi can, at Kiwi can we do games and learn about our values, our value for the term is integrity, for Kiwi can this week we done three games, our warm up was stop, walk, clap and jump, when someone said one of them we had to do it and when we got further into the game they started to switch it up a little bit so they done like stop means walk and more. our 2nd game wasn't really a game it was were you get into a team of 3 or 4 and you got a piece of paper and you had to see what it said on it and you had to write down responses, our last game was called traffic lights if you don't know what traffic lights is it is a game were someone says red, green and orange and you got to do what it says red was stop green was go and orange was walk.

This was fun because it is very energetic,

I found this challenging to hear what they were saying,

QUESTION: do you do Kiwi can?

dress up my sentence, the door slammed.

W.A.L.T write about our writing task from the past week.

EG: doing words, my class done one on the door slammed.

This task was good because other then just saying it, were actually described how it would be like to be there.

I think I done well on making all of my words into a full sentence

I think I can improve on finding more doing words.

Learning how to use a protractor.

I.A.L.T write about a learning task from the week.
PROTRACTORS - Celco Protractor 180 Degree 10cm - Paper Plus
This week for maths we have been learning how to use a protractor to measure and draw angles. If you don't know what a protractor is it is a type of ruler that you use to measure angles, such as acute, obtuse, full, straight, right and a reflex angle.

I think using a protractor is hard at the start then when you get used to it it's very easy. This is how you use a protractor:

1. figure out what angle it is, this helps to get a point of view what it might add up to
2. match the line with the bottom zero
3.match up the hole in the middle to the middle of the angle that should be marked with a circle or a square
4. Put the protractor where the zero with the line
5.find the measurement is by finding which number the Ray is at.

QUESTION: do you know how to use a protractor,or are you learning to use a protractor.

I think next time I could find out more senses in my object,

QUESTION: do you know what senses are?

we played a cool game called octupus and, this game was challenging because we mixed up the rules a bit EG we made the taggers stand on one foot.

And we also done a game called car, bike and airplane in this game someone will stand in front of all the others and they call out either car, airplane, bike and park it, you have to do whatever one they say and if they call out park it you have to stop and if they say anything else and you move you have to go back to the start, to win you have to get to the end without getting any thing and get to the person and high five them.

cancel the invasion word search.

W.A.L.T upload our reading tasks and write about our tasks.

We read a story called 'Cancel the Invasion' and our follow up task for reading was to complete a word search. We could either do our word search on paper or on our device. I chose to do it on paper because it is easier to spot words and cross them off.

I liked doing this task because it is a challenge for your eyes. You have to get through a whole maze of letters find one word.

Have you read cancel the invasion and have you done this word search before?

Cancel the invasion storyboard.

Today for reading we had to read a story called cancel the invasion. after that we started our writing task and our task for today was to do a storyboard based on cancel the invasion.
We needed to include:
-Setting
-Title and author
-Characters
-Ideas at the beginning
-Ideas in the middle

Quarantine times and trying to stay safe😷

As you may know everyone has been going through very tough times with covid19 entering our country and growing every day. These are different ways to stay safe, for the most important one is to wash your hands after you have touched something that has been touched or someone has sneezed or coughed on, if you need to sneeze or cough do it into your elbow so it doesn't spread to everyone else, stay home if needing supplies either go to the shop alone or online shop, if you have enough to last until the time.  If you need to leave your bubble you need to stay at least 2 meters away from others. stay safe.
